About Us

We understand that your pet is a beloved family member, and we're committed to providing exceptional care for them. At Ferstl Veterinary Hospital, we’ve been keeping the human/pet bond healthy since 1949.

Our team is dedicated to creating a family environment where we take the time to get to know our clients and their pets. We want you to feel like family when you visit us—not just another number. We're proud to say we adhere to fear-free principles when treating your pet.

Our full-service hospital offers general medicine and advanced surgery, along with a core of wellness care that includes physical therapy and pain management. If your pet needs emergency medical attention, our hospital is equipped with an ICU and supporting therapies to provide the necessary care.

Our commitment to strong diagnostics means we have the latest equipment, including ultrasound and CT to provide accurate diagnoses and treatment plans.

To provide the best possible experience, we offer scheduled appointments, walk-in availability, and in-home visits for specific services. For your convenience, Ferstl Veterinary Hospital has a well-stocked, in-house pharmacy.

What to Expect From Your Visit

When you arrive at our hospital, our front desk team will ask you to sign in and provide any necessary updates to your account. For the safety of your pet and others, we ask that all dogs are on a leash and cats are in carriers.

Our goal is to ensure all patients are seen. While we accept daily walk-in’s, we take our scheduled appointments first, and see walk-in’s in between. Still, occasional unexpected delays sometimes occur due to emergencies or patients requiring extra attention. Please rest assured that we’ll provide your pet with the same dedication and courtesy, and be patient during these extended wait times as we are doing our best to ensure every patient gets the care and treatment they need, and know your pet will get the same compassionate care while being seen. Please remember, as long as you make it to our door, we will not turn you away.

During your visit, one of our team members will escort you to an exam room as soon as one is available. We’ll gather basic information about your pet's health, examine your pet, and discuss any questions or concerns you may have. Further diagnostics or treatment will be planned as needed.

If advanced diagnostics or treatments are recommended, we typically perform these during our non-receiving hours. This means we may check in your pet for the day for workup and observation. We’ll contact you to pick them up when their visit is complete. Any re-checks will be scheduled as needed.

Through the Generations

Ferstl Veterinary Hospital is proud to have a multigenerational history in our community. Founded in 1949 by Dr. H Thomas Ferstl's father, we have provided service to our clients and their pets over four generations. We look forward to continuing to build these relationships over many more generations to come.
